1846 SAMPLER
A nicely developed, dated, and signed sampler. The top portion of this piece has three different styles of upper and lower case alphabets. The bottom portion includes decorative stitching of numerous floral and some geometric motifs. All is surrounded by a floral and leaf border, which makes it a very desirable needlework sampler. Dated 1846. Signed with the name McLeonie Duranton. Measures 10 3/4 inches square. Wool on linen.
