ALBERT COLES' AMERICAN COIN SILVER STILTON OR CHEESE SCOOP
An American unstamped coin silver cheese scoop or stilton scoop or trowel used to break apart veined cheese by Albert Coles, a New York City silversmith from the 1830's to the 1870's. The hallmark on the back is his three-part mark consisting of an eagle, initials "A/C" and a head facing right. Coles' dies were eventually purchased by George W. Shiebler. Coles' work can be found in both coin and sterling. Handle is monogrammed.
