Portrait of Caroline Annunciade Pease, attributed to John Wesley Jarvis of Hartford, Connecticut. Caroline Pease was born in Enfield, Connecticut, on October 8, 1826, daughter of Judge Lorraine T. Pease and Sarah Marshall Pease.

Judge and Mrs. Pease moved to Wisconsin in 1839 and their daughter, Caroline, eventually married Hamilton Richardson of Janesville, Wisconsin.

Hamilton and Caroline Richardson are the grandparents of Emma Richardson Skavlem, mother of Mary E. Keith of State College, PA, who inherited the portrait.
