TOLEWARE GOOSENECK COFFEE POT
A fine mid-19th century, paint decorated toleware gooseneck coffee pot with hinged dome lid and cast brass knob-shaped finial. The pot has an inverted conical-like shape supported by a flared rounded foot with a rolled rim; the sides of the pot taper to a simple rolled collar, with an applied tapered gooseneck spout and applied arched tapered ribbon-like handle with rolled edges. The handle is fitted with a simple tin brace on its underside. The sides of the pot are decorated with hand painted floral motifs in red, yellow, green and cream surrounded by a simple yellow leaf-like border, a yellow band surrounds the top of the pot's sides, the side of the foot and lid are accented with simple yellow leaf-like motifs, the top of the lid has a yellow floral motif in its center, all on a japanned background.
Measures 6 3/8 inches in diameter at the base, 9 1/2 inches long, and 10 3/8 inches high. Minor wear to paint decoration, wear to paint on spout, minor denting around foot.
