An exquisite and rare American hand-carved sardonyx stone cameo signed L. Zoellner in an elaborate 14K mount. This cameo is both a brooch and pendant with a hook on the base to hang a watch. The workmanship of the cameo is beautifully done down to the strands of hair, facial features, and clothing. Measures 1 3/4 inches x 1 3/8 inches.
Louis Zoellner was born 1852 in Idar, Germany; and died 1934 in Brooklyn, New York.
