FOLK ART HAND CARVED HAND PAINTED WALKING STICK
A great American folk art walking stick hand carved and hand painted with highly detailed carvings of the phases of life. It is carved with figures representing an infant at the top, then a child, then schooldays, then career, then marriage, then old age, and finally the "grim reaper" and death at the bottom. It maintains the original painted surface and has great wear. Measures 48 inches long. Circa: First quarter of the 20th century. Origin Centre County. It does have some age cracks. This is truly a great piece of folk art carving.
