SAMUEL BENTZ FRAKTUR "SERA" OR SARA
Samuel Bentz (1792-1850), of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, was known as the "Mount Pleasant Artist." Primarily a schoolteacher he was also known for his illuminated manuscripts with bold geometric forms and astragal organization. He died of the palsy.
